Why Choose CEREC Same-Day Crowns?

CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) uses computer-aided design and manufacturing to create your crown on-site, without relying on external dental laboratories. This means you leave with your permanent crown the very same day.

Benefits of CEREC Same-Day Crowns:

The CEREC Same-Day Crown Process

Initial Consultation & Tooth Preparation

Your dentist will examine your tooth and prepare it by gently reshaping the surface, just like a traditional crown process.

Digital Intraoral Scanning

Instead of traditional impression material, a small intraoral camera captures a 3D image of your tooth and bite using CEREC’s digital scanner.

Custom Design & Milling

Your crown is digitally designed for accuracy and comfort, then sent to our in-house CEREC milling unit, which crafts your crown from a ceramic block matched to your natural tooth colour.

Fitting & Placement

The finished crown is checked for fit and comfort before being permanently bonded to your tooth—typically within 1–2 hours of starting treatment.

Polishing & Bite Adjustment

We refine the crown’s surface, check your bite, and ensure everything looks and feels natural before you leave the clinic.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does CEREC stand for?

CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. It’s a system that allows dentists to create ceramic restorations like crowns, inlays, and onlays in just one visit.

Are CEREC crowns as strong as traditional crowns?

Yes. CEREC crowns are made from high-grade ceramic, offering excellent strength, durability, and aesthetics—comparable to traditional lab-made crowns.

How long do CEREC crowns last?

With proper oral hygiene and regular check-ups, CEREC crowns can last many years. Their longevity is similar to crowns made in external dental labs.

Is a CEREC crown more expensive than a regular crown?

Costs can vary depending on your treatment needs and health fund cover but are often the same cost. However, patients often find value in the convenience of fewer appointments and no temporary crowns.

Can I eat normally after getting a CEREC crown?

Yes, once the crown is bonded and your dentist confirms the fit, you can eat as usual. It’s recommended to wait until the anaesthetic wears off before eating to avoid accidental biting.

Is the CEREC crown process safe and comfortable?

Absolutely. The digital scanning process is fast and comfortable—no gooey impressions or multiple injections. The entire procedure is completed with your comfort in mind.
