Bone grafting

Once a tooth has been removed, the jaw bone will naturally shrink in height and width. This process starts within the first three months, and if left for a number of years, this may compromise our ability to place implants. For most people we like to replace missing teeth as soon as possible to ensure that adequate bone remains.

While bone loss may have prevented you from having implants in the past, we can now use advanced procedures to help regrow the bone to the ideal shape. These procedures utilise your own blood stem cells and graft materials in order to make your bone suitable for implant placement.

Our dentists can assess your individual goals and plan for the least invasive method possible. If we determine that grafting is required, we will take you through the procedures involved and the most predictable path to replacing your teeth.

If you’ve had missing teeth for a long time but still want to consider implants, please don’t hesitate to book a consultation with us to assess your suitability.
